Everyone has their go-to clothes in their closet, whether it's your favorite comfy sweater, or those well worn jeans that just get better with time.  Here are ten staple items that are building blocks for any girls wardrobe.  Investing in these ten pieces will never let you down, you can count on them to be timeless classics.

1. Jeans
The denim hip huggers that just seem to go with everything, let's face it jeans aren't going anywhere.  Invest in a pair of straight leg jeans, these are versatile when it comes to dressing them up or down.  Pair with a set of stilettos for an evening out, or those cute sneakers for a fun day around town.

2. Classic Black/Nude Pumps
These shoes will be your best friend, something you can count on for the most important of times to the most causal.  A classic pump can carry you from a job interview, to brunch, to a first date, these shoes can be worn for anything and everything.

3. Flats
Flats are the savior of the shoe world, they are great for times when you need a shoe that is chic yet comfortable.

4. Basic Tee
A relaxed fitting tee in a solid and neutral color is something that you will end up pulling out of your closet constantly.  Not only will you be comfortable but you will look great, just remember that this shirt is very flexible when it comes to outfits so don't be afraid to really play a look up.

5. Neutral Tote Bag
Let's face it, sometimes we just need to be able to carry a lot of things around but still look good while doing it.  A large tote bag will be there for all of your storing and carrying needs.  The color of the bag is key, so stick with a neutral tone, like a camel color, this will make it so that your bag will be in style for years to come.

6. Black Blazer
A black blazer is an essential piece to your wardrobe, whether you wear it for that upcoming job interview or with a classic t-shirt and jeans.  To make your blazer look even more professional make sure it is fitted well and ends right at the hip bones for a tailored look.

7. Trendy Clutch
A clutch is an easy and compact way to make a statement.  As great as neutral tones can be, we sometimes need something that's a little extra, so add a pop of color to your outfit through a trendy and brightly colored clutch.

8.Little Black Dress
Every woman knows about the little black dress, it can be worn to almost any occasion.  What is important, is finding the one that compliments you the best.  So don't just stick to what is "In" or perhaps the most trendy, try on a variety of styles, you will know when you have found the one.

9. Leather Jacket
A leather jacket is great for adding an edge to your look, it is an instant attention grabber.  This piece will keep you warm without loosing your sense of style.

10. Denim Button Down/ Jacket
Just like your favorite pair of jeans, a denim button down and jacket can be paired with anything.  A great way to wear your denim is through layering, this also means that you can wear this item through different seasons, making it a great staple item for your closet.

  1. Your passion really shines through in your writing! Like your last post, I enjoyed all the pictures; it makes a better reading experience for the audience. My only constructive comment would be to perhaps format all the pictures on the same side of the article. Jumping from side to side got a little confusing at times. Other than that, great article!

  2. I love neutral looks. I think the arrangement of the photos would be better if it was easier to tell which text descriptions go with what right away. It's a little hard to read, but I love the content. If you need help resizing the header image please let me know!
